Nate Wood enters his third year as an assistant athletic trainer at UT, serving as the head athletic trainer for men’s lacrosse and women's volleyball. He was hired in July of 2010.

Wood previously served as a graduate assistant at the University of South Florida for two years, beginning in July of 2008 and ceasing in July of 2010 with the completion of a Master of Arts degree in physical education and exercise science.

At USF, Wood was the football assistant athletic trainer while serving as the head athletic trainer for men’s and women’s tennis and cheerleading. He also assisted with the University of South Florida Health Orthopedic and supervised junior and senior athletic training education program students.

He spent one year as an athletic training intern at the University of Colorado at Boulder for the 2007-08 season. He was the football assistant athletic trainer and head women’s tennis athletic trainer.

A 2007 graduate from the University of New Hampshire, Wood earned his degree in kinesiology and athletic training while working as a student athletic trainer. Among the sports he worked as an undergraduate include ice hockey, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s indoor track.

Other events Wood has worked include the University of South Florida Team Camp, 2009 Big East Men’s and Women’s Tennis Tournament, University of New Hampshire Gymnastics Camp, University of Colorado Men’s Soccer Camp, Boston Marathon and the Portsmouth Cycling Criterium.

A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Wood is certified and state licensed.
